Mr. Fisher is a California Certified Public Accountant and a Partner with VTD, where he currently serves as an audit partner for approximately 15 public and privately-held institutions throughout California and surrounding states. These financial institutions range in asset size from less than $100 million to over $2 billion. He also currently serves as chairperson of the firm’s Bank Practice Group.
Mr. Fisher had over 30 years experience with regional and national accounting firms providing audit, accounting, and tax services to financial institutions in Illinois when he joined VTD in 2008. He coordinated the quality control activities with one of these firms from 1988 to 2004 and has served as team captain on numerous peer reviews of other firms and of the internal inspections of the financial institutions practice of a national accounting firm. This dedication to quality control and the specific needs associated with the changing landscape for financial institutions has earned Mr. Fisher a well respected reputation for technical expertise with his peers and clients.
Since joining VTD, Mr. Fisher has developed several areas of expertise, including:
- Basel III
- Acquisition accounting
- Allowance for loan losses and TDR’s
- SEC filers
He enjoys assisting his clients on various technical matters as they arise and takes great pride in his accessibility and responsiveness to clients.
Mr. Fisher is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA). He is also a member of the Banking CPAs and has served as a past President of that organization. Banking CPAs is network of CPA firms that specialize in serving financial institutions, with member firms serving over 2,000 institutions nationwide.
