Mr. Carter is a California Certified Public Accountant, a Nevada Certified Public Accountant and a partner with VTD. Over the past thirty years he has focused his practice providing accounting and advisory services to community banks as well as tax and accounting management services and accounting, auditing and advisory services to governmental and not-for-profit entities.
Mr. Carter has worked with financial institutions throughout the state focusing on both public and privately held institutions. He has provided accounting and audit services to institutions from the organizational stage as De Novo Banks up to banks with assets in excess of $1 billion. His expertise in this area is recognized as he serves to guide his clients through the regulatory environment that is now in place. He provides leadership and advice to his clients to meet the reporting objectives of the primary oversight agencies including the SEC and the PCAOB.
He has provided advisory services in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, identifying the key aspects of these business combination and the potential tax effects of the new entity. He has provided management and board members with training on their roles and responsibilities in the current regulatory environment.
Mr. Carter is also one of the primary speakers for our in-house training on a variety of topics related to accounting, auditing and compliance within the banking as well as the governmental industry. His expertise is recognized by his peers and clients as well as his partners and the staff of the Firm.
Mr. Carter is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA), the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants (NSCPA). He also is a member of the California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO) – Southern Section Research and Development Committee.
